Balaangala Community group invites you to attend a talk about “Stolen Wages” by Ros Kidd, author of “Trustees on Trial” and “The Way We Civilize”.
8th August at 98 Yoorala St, The Gap. 2 – 4 pm.

From the late 1800s until the 1970s Aboriginal Queenslanders were denied access to their wages. In many cases it was simply stolen or lost from private Aboriginal accounts or wrongly used from trust funds.

Ros will share her knowledge and research around the government controls over Aboriginal Queenslander earnings and entitlements, and the evidence behind this financial mismanagement.
She will also share what is happening in the continuing fight for justice and appropriate compensation.

Proceeds from this event will be donated to ANTAR in their support for the Stolen Wages Working Group.

Costs: Adults: $15 Conc: $5
Elders and Indigenous people no charge.
