First Nations' Voice

Reconciliation Queensland, as a member of the broader Australian Reconciliation Network, supports the call for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander First Nation peoples to have the opportunity to be formally part of a First Nations Voice to Parliament that is both recognised and enshrined in the Australian Constitution with other States and Territories First Nation groups as well.

The Uluru Statement from the Heart is an invitation to all Australians to walk with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for a better future. Please take time to familiarise yourself with the full statement which is available on the Uluru Statement website.

A guide to the essential elements of this movement, including: an overview of the First Nations National Constitutional Convention; the Uluru Statement, First Nations Voice; the Makarrata Commission; and constitutional implications, is available on the Parliament of Australia website.
