At our last general meeting we heard from Congress Co-Chair Dr Jackie Huggins AM, who said Queensland had an opportunity to progress through COAG the restoration of funding taken from the Indigenous Affairs portfolio by the Federal Government in 2014.

Dr Huggins, who is also a patron for RQI, was speaking about the Redfern Statement at the association’s general meeting on April 29...

Brisbane defies boundaries for NRW 2017 

On the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Referendum, a dedicated group of around 80 campaigners gathered on Saturday, May 27, for their annual Defying Boundaries Reconciliation Walk between Brisbane’s Boundary Streets.

These streets, in Spring Hill and West End, formed the boundaries of exclusion that were enforced on Indigenous peoples from dusk until dawn during the 19th Century.

  Cherbourg takes great strides for reconciliation

The Cherbourg Ration Shed Museum‘s Reconciliation Fun Run attracted a record number of participants on May 21 this year and earned plenty of praise from event sponsors and community leaders.

Among the high profile supporters was champion marathon runner Robert ‘Deek’ de Castella, who now heads up the Indigenous Marathon Foundation.
