Reading for Reconciliation2017-02-09T22:17:18+00:00

Project Description

Reading for Reconciliation has been running for more than 12 years and is more than a ‘book club’.

  • The group has no political or religious affiliations and we come from a variety of backgrounds and ages.
  • Members seek to expand their knowledge and understanding of current issues impacting on Australia’s First Peoples by reading and discussing literary works in an informal, friendly setting.

The group meets in the Community Room at the Brisbane City Council George Street Library at 266 George Street (at the top end of the CBD) from 10am till 12.30pm, at approximately six weekly intervals.

NEW ‘READERS’ ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

Members take turns in ‘leading’ discussion of a particular title and each ‘leader’ is expected to provide some extra background or context, focus the discussion, etc.

All titles chosen are available through the Brisbane City Council Library service. A big “Thank you” to BCC for invaluable support.
