Boundary St Spring Hill – Boundary St West End Walk
Walkers to meet at St James College, 201 Boundary St, Brisbane at 3:00pm

Followed by a free barbecue and Concert at the ‘Talking Circle’, kuril dhagun – State Library of Queensland at 5.00pm

On Sunday 12 February 2012, the people of Queensland’s Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities are invited to participate in a walk from Boundary Street in Spring Hill to Boundary Street West End. The walk will take place to symbolise the fact that Aboriginal Australians were not able to walk through the Brisbane CBD after dusk.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes, catch public transport and bring wet weather gear in case of rain. This is an important day for all Australians and we look forward to walking alongside you on the day!

Reconciliation Queensland Inc is also hosting a display of market stalls in the kuril dhagun Cultural Centre at the State Library of Queensland on Sunday 12th February 2012. Participants may sell goods, conduct raffles, as well as offering handout materials for the information of the public. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and craftspeople are invited to demonstrate their skills and to share their cultures with the passers by. You/your organisation are invited to set up a table showcasing the work that your organisation is doing to progress the philosophy of Reconciliation.

The display will run from 10.30am to 3:30pm and is open to the public, this is a free event to attend.
