Libby Ferrari
Interim CEO
Libby Ferrari is an experienced executive leader with more than 20 years working at the intersection of industry, community, and government, both in Australia and internationally. With qualifications in Environmental Science and an MBA, Libby has held senior global roles with BHP—including Vice President External Affairs and Vice President Global Indigenous Engagement & Community—before founding Libby Ferrari Consulting, a specialist advisory firm focused on stakeholder engagement, Indigenous relations, sustainability, and external affairs.
Throughout her career, Libby has built strong, trusted relationships with First Nations peoples, governments, and communities. She has been closely involved in negotiating Indigenous Land Use Agreements, benefit sharing, and employment initiatives across Australia, Canada, and South America. Her approach is grounded in respect, listening, and creating genuine, long-term outcomes that balance community aspirations with organisational goals.
Libby has also contributed to reconciliation and inclusion at a broader level, serving on the Board of Reconciliation Queensland and advocating for Indigenous voices within the corporate and government sectors. She is recognised as a collaborative and values-driven leader who brings people together to navigate complex challenges with integrity and purpose.
With deep executive leadership experience, a strong governance background, and proven ability to lead teams through transition and growth, Libby brings a wealth of expperience, expertise and networks across Australia to her role as Interim CEO at Reconciliation Queensland. She combines strategic capability with cultural sensitivity and a commitment to reconciliation, and will ensure the organisation continues to strengthen relationships and deliver meaningful impact for communities across Queensland.
